Story Club Presents "Holidays" On Thursday

Story Club is Chicago's premier open mic for stories.  The theme for our December 5 show is “Holidays.” What do we celebrate when the days turn dark? What does it mean to gather together for a yearly celebration? What are you taking a holiday from? Join guest host Andrew Marikis for one fantastic night of holiday storytelling.

WHEN: Thursday, December 5th, 7:30pm
WHERE: Holiday Club, 4000 N Sheridan Rd
(1/2 a block from the Sheridan Red Line stop)

Open mic sign up at 7:30pm, Show starts at 8pm

Our featured performers this time around are:
  • Actress, writer, and storyteller Jen Bosworth
  • Storyteller and comedy whirlwind, Kelsie Huff
  • The wisest puppet you know, Chad the Bird
As always, there are 3 open mic slots available. Everyone with a story, involving that month's theme or not, is welcome to sign up. We love to hear new and unique voices. Open mic participants are given 8 minutes (approximately 1300 words) to tell their story. The sign-up starts at 7:30pm and guest host Andrew Marikis will start the show at 8pm. If more than 3 storytellers sign up we’ll draw names for the slots.

Holiday Club serves delicious food & drink, is 21+, and there is a suggested donation of $5.
