  1. I can only go as far back as remembering the donut shop in the station. When you entered the station, the shop was to your right as you approached the staircase. I can't remember when it closed. I'm guess during the late 1990s. I also remember Payless being under the stop (on the northwest corner) before it was moved to its current location.

    1. My accountant grew up in the Chelsea Hotel (where there was always a card game going on in the back) in the 1940s and 50s. He worked at the magazine stand shown on the right of the picture. The area where the convenience store and Popeye's were was the waiting room, with benches, like Union Station. The tree shown was apparently in the middle of the waiting room in 1926.
