Don't Mess With The Reservoir
"[Thursday] night while dining at the Reservoir, I witnessed an attempted theft. Two young men ran by and stole a cell phone off a table on the patio. A staff member there ran out the door chasing after them. He threw at and hit one of them with a beer can that was meant to be served to a table, then changed directions to run the opposite way. He cut the 2 guys off and while running full speed, kicked the guy's feet out from under him that had the stolen phone. The guy went flying out onto Montrose and I could tell he was hurt.
The Reservoir staff member picked the phone up and returned it to the customer on the patio. He was greeted with clapping and cheers when he returned. I hope that other punks will think twice about messing with this place. The Reservoir staff guy is a veteran and a badass, but asked that we not use his name on Yelp or Uptown Update, but was very nice about the situation. I bet he made a lot of $ that after all of the witnesses were shaking his hand and clapping."
We assume the cops were called at some point, and we bet those guys won't target The Reservoir anytime soon. We also caution you about leaving phones and wallets out when eating al fresco, anywhere in the city.
