Rev. Patti Nakai of Buddhist Temple of Chicago (1151 W Leland) invites neighbors to the temple's summer festival, called "Natsu Matsuri" in Japanese.
It takes place on Sunday, June 23, from 11am to 5pm and will feature cultural displays and demonstrations, a taiko drum performance around noon (pictured), and "mini-lectures" on Buddhism - all free and open to the public.
There will be Japanese food for sale, "(but we tend to start running out of items around 3pm)."
