Good news! We were forwarded an email that Ald. Osterman sent: "[The Somerset Rezoning Request] passed through Committee on Zoning this morning and we expect it to receive full passage in City Council on Thursday."

Best Uptown story since Wilson. A major influx of market rate units and no TIF required.
I heard banging and construction noises going on in there this morning around 8:45 this morning. I saw there was what looked to be a city notice on the front, but didn't read it. I'll have a better look when I go round tomorrow.
As someone who's been watching the going-ons of Somerset from across the alley for 3 years, they've been working quite diligently inside there for awhile now. Taking out all the old stuff and rehabbing the whole place, putting in ceiling fans and taking out old doors. I hope they keep the basketball court hidden in the back, and maybe open it up to the public!

@ CJ...i was kind of hoping they would turn the basketball court into an outdoor space for a restaurant in one of the retail spaces. Your idea is cool too.
