5040 N. Kenmore Senior Apartments Completed

"I wanted to share with you a piece of positive community news that I was hoping you could share with your readers:

Yesterday, myself and a few of my neighbors were graciously given a tour of the new 5040 N. Kenmore Senior Apartments by Jadine Chou and Tim Veenstra, CHA Asset Managers.  The 8-story building was closed in 2006 and sat vacant until 2009 when recovery dollars were made available to start the renovation.  After almost a two year project, I can report that the building is stunning.

The Property Manager is Anna Tukiendorf-Wilhite, Tel: 773-769-3006 and she also introduced us to the building engineer.  The property has 24x7 front door security and there are security cameras all over the inside and the outside of the property along with an electronic badged "check-in and check-out" process.  This shows a high commitment to the community and we are hoping they will be a great neighborhood partner!  They let us know that they are in need of books to stock up their new library so they encourage anyone with a donation to stop by and see the new digs and drop off any books you think the seniors would enjoy!

They are accepting applications for qualified seniors so anyone with a family member that would like to apply, please contact The Habitat Company at 312-527-7457."

Here is a link to some before and after pictures I took of the development posted on Flickr
