Another Look At The Uptown Broadway Building

The "Blueprint: Chicago" blog took a look at the Uptown Broadway Building recently and came up with some beautiful photos. Check it out here.

One of our favorite descriptions of the building comes from A Native's Guide to Chicago. It describes the style of architecture as "Horror vacui - fear of unadorned surface areas" and says the building is "delightfully gapeworthy."

"The cream and gray terra cotta cladding froths with images of cherubs, trolls, sheep, cornucopia, armor, urns, armor and more."

And that's exactly why we love it.

  1. Does the building have any retail tenants yet? It would be a shame if they invested in renovations only to have it sit empty.

  2. Too bad is was poorly gut-rehabbed.
