Young Woman Found Dead In Alley Of 5200 Kenmore

FROM STNG WIRE REPORTS

The body of a partially clothed woman was found dead in an alley in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side Monday morning.

A tow truck driver found the woman’s body about 3:20 a.m. in an alley on the 5200 block of North Kenmore Avenue, according to police, who said the woman appears to be white and there was some blood on the scene.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said the still unidentified woman appears to be in her 20s and their office remained on the scene at 6 a.m.

Though the cause of death was not known immediately police were probing the possibility the woman, who may be in her early 20s, fell from a building nearby.

Authorities said the woman was partially clothed.

Police officers were canvassing the neighborhood and searching inside the surroundings buildings as of 5:30 a.m., according to police, who indicated a suicide note had not been found.

Lincoln District Police Sgt. Patrick Barker said Belmont Area detectives are conducting a death investigation.

  4. Spritlake, since there is space in this thread why don't you take this opportunity to tell this community about your daughter?

I was shocked to read the news and am truly sorry for your loss. Being a mother myself I cannot even imagine...

I pray that you have strong friends and family to encircle you with love during this sad time.

Just Curious: Does anyone know what is going on with the Uptown Crime Blotter? I frequently click on the link but it hasn't been updated in a very long time.

  8. Uptown Crime Blotter was the victim of theft. They posted here about a month ago that some volunteers came forward with offers to help post updates. They were given police radios and then were never heard from again.

  10. Thank you all for your kindness and compassion.
Jennie was a kind, very smart, witty and loving young woman. Her sense of humor was charming. Jennie suffered from alcoholism and very likely a mental illness greater than depression just not diagnosed officially. What pain one must have when suicide is the only answer. She had just recently moved to Chicago and was struggling to find work. I will miss her tremendously

  11. Dear spiritlake, though there are probably no easy means to healing in such a sad event, I do hope, as time passes your loss will be slightly eased with it delivering all of us deeper understanding of life that is yet to reveal itself.

  12. Spiritlake my thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours. Having tragically lost two family members in '04 I have some notion as to what you must be facing. Words are so meek (specially on a blog) in the midst of such tragedy. Know that you are always a child of God who is Always loved, never alone especially in your pain. You are most likely in the midst of your lifes greatest pain, this is a major low point one that you can only Go up from. This helped me to know during my storm. I hope it serves you as well.

    God Bless
