"Spot" On!

Did you know that The Spot on Broadway offers its entire menu for half price on Sundays after 6pm?
To the inevitable cynics: No, Uptown Update is not an investor in The Spot, nor are we friends with the owners (we don't even know who they are). But -- we do want Uptown's businesses to succeed, we do love a bargain, and this sure qualifies.

Love the Spot! A great addition to Uptown. Good food, atmosphere, and the staff (and the owners) make sure you have a good time.

The owner attended the last community meeting at Truman. He seemed like a nice guy...

I need to revisit this place.

My first visit was a nightmare. The waiter/"actor" was of no use. He couldn't split the check in half. Thats right..in half. Too hard. Then he proceeded to hand us his "business" card like I was buying a car. I spent over 5 years as a server, so I am really lenient. This "cowboy" was bad.

I pledge to go back soon and give it another try. Though please for the love of god stop emailing me that I "won" a party. It is not that I don't want it, it's just that Chip doesn't have enough friends to fill a bar stool, let alone a room.

As someone who frequents the joint often, I like the emails (the events, not the "you won a party" ones)....but I could see them getting annoying. You can always reply back to opt-out.

Ate there last night, mmmmmmm.

We went there last night... good deal. My buddy and I shared an appetizer, had full meals (pork and chicken), and I had a dessert to go. The only thing that was charged full price was my drink. $28 for both of us, total. Can't beat that for a night out in a "white tablescloth" restaurant.

This was opened to much fanfare a few years ago; the owners were trying to establish a restaurant/bar/performance space/comedy club to attract the Saturday-night social crowd. How's that going anyway?

went there last night as well. I have been before, but you can't beat the half price after 6 deal.

I had a steak there that I didn't care for once, but their pastas are pretty good. Appetizer portions are kind of small.

I like the place, but the service is occasionally spotty when they get busy. Its partially to be expected, but I wish that they would either use larger water glasses or have more people to walk around.

Its a good place though. If you haven't been, check it out.

I didn't make it last night -- I'm coming down with a cold or something and didn't go out. The wife and I are going to go check it out next weekend, assuming I'm feeling a bit better.
